Learning
Learning should be fun but should also stick. It is widely understood that 70% of the learning that is retained is through doing, so our development programmes are largely practical. The focus is on the learner in order to encourage them to take responsibility for their own development and action.
To create a learning environment we use the experience of all those involved (not just the trainers). This helps to build the trust and commitment of the participants and ensures that they own the outcomes and follow through to create permanent change and visible results.
Example
If we model the way as leaders it creates the right culture and environment for others and leads to practical and visible results for both individuals and businesses.
On our programmes the coaches lead by example, modelling what we require in order to build credibility and rapport, as well as to challenge those involved that little bit more. Participants consistently acknowledge that this is a key reason for the success of the prorgammes, as the coaches don’t stand apart as distant experts but are part of the process.
Action
In the modern world where we are inundated with e-mails and messages, it is very easy to get stuck in the weeds and become entirely reactive. The programmes and coaching services we provide are therefore designed to support leaders to understand themselves, their goals and their vision, but also to devote time to planning the practical steps to get there.
We find this creates motivation and commitment to action, and enables clients to make real progress back in the workplace and in their lives, resulting in sustainable change and visible results for themselves, their teams and the business.
Reality
Reality offers far more learning potential than contrived situations. We believe to really gain commitment to change we need to look beyond the knowledge and skills you can gain from a book or other programmes and personalise the experience. In our experience most leaders understand the theory but they might not always apply it. By providing practical support to understand the attitudes, behaviours and approach of our participants we support them to discover why they are successful and where they might struggle.
Personalising the experience provides the challenge, motivation and support for people to make meaningful, decisive changes and improvements in their lives and in work. This creates an immediate, practical pay off for the organisation, and means the changes really last.
